Mr. J. was a resident here in the fall of 2007 after having total joint replacement surgery. The plan was for Mr. J. to receive physical and occupational therapy. His recovery went as expected except for one night near the end of his stay at Ossian. The aorta of Mr. J’s heart began to detach. If not for the rapid response by the nurses Mr. J. would have perished. Mr. J. was transported to the hospital where he received life saving surgery. Mr. J. eventually went home after recovering from this traumatic event. But to this day whenever he stops by the facility he reminds me that the nurses of Ossian Health & Rehab saved his life. He’s right.
Mr. B. has been a resident of Ossian Health & Rehab for several years. In mid December 2007 it became necessary for Mr. B. to go to the hospital for treatment. While in the hospital Mr. B’s daughter was stopped by the nurses at the hospital and asked which nursing home Mr. B was staying. The nurses were amazed at the level of care he surely must be receiving. What else could explain why his skin was in such excellent condition? Mr. B.’s daughter made it a point to stop by my office to share with me the nurse’s comments.
Recently one of our dear residents passed away after being a resident here for more than 3 years. While at the funeral home every member of the family told me how pleased they were with their mother’s care and how their mother was so happy that the staff of the nursing home called her grandma. She had never had children and to be called grandma made her feel so special.
We'd love to hear from you!
