Certified Nursing Assistant
The primary purpose of this position is providing for the daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents under the supervision and direction of a Staff Nurse.
This position reports to the Unit Manager or acting Nurse Manager.
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
· Assisting residents with bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming, nail care and dressing needs. Feeding residents, providing water/snacks and transferring residents to the dining room as needed.
· Assisting residents with turning, positioning, exercising, transferring and ambulation.
· Answering call lights, maintaining resident rooms (i.e., making beds, changing bed linens, etc). and offering emotional support to resident/families.
· Taking and monitoring vital signs, intake/outputs, weights and meal consumptions. Following documentation requirements for functional maintenance plans, 24-hour reports, CNA flow sheets, monthly intake logs, BM flow records, behavior management records, toileting plans, restraint sheets, shower lists, skin care audits, cleaning schedules, protective device usage and other records.
